House of Independent Producers "Dionysus' Chardonnay (Washington)
Made by the famed Hedges Family of Red Mountain this Chardonnay harks back to a day when Chardonnay was made in a more old world in style. Sourced almost entirely from the Dionysus vineyard this wine really over delivers. Light straw color, brilliantly clear. Lively lemon zest, tart apple pie, custard and hint of shortbread. The palate has a nice tart entry, which leads you into a sweet, round and full mid-palate that invites you to enjoy the flaky apple pie flavors on the finish.
Sorbara Lambrusco (Italy)
Lambrusco remains one of the world's most misunderstood wines, mostly due to the sea of overly-sweet Lambrusco that reached our shores decades ago. This great offering is DRY, fresh and full of dark berry fruit with the traditional Lambrusco bubbles (maintained during fermentation) that lift the palate with plum and wild blackberry flavors on a succulent, full finish. This wine served chilled, is a perfectly delicious red to be served around your favorite holiday appetizers such as rich cheeses, olives and all things salumi & charcuterie.
Kiona Lemberger (Washington)
First planted back in 1980 by Kiona Vineyards (the first U.S. winery to do so), this obscure European varietal (also known as Blaufrankisch) has found a home on Red Mountain! 100% Red Mountain estate grown and produced, this bright, nuanced red is loaded with aromas and flavors of blue fruits that are nicely complemented by hints of allspice and cocoa and the soft, supple tannins in the finish. Years of experience and experimentation have led to this wonderful expression of Lemberger, making this bottle one of the more unique wine experiences in Washington state. The spicy expression and silken body lend itself to the lighter fare of the thanksgiving feast.
Lone Birch Riesling (Washington)
This 100% Washington estate, off-dry Riesling is light straw in color with delicate floral aromas and hints of fresh grass. Lush and light-bodied with flavors of white peach and ripe pear, balanced by crisp acidity. A Turkey Day staple!
Engel Reserve Pinot Blanc (France)
Wonderful aromas and flavors of acacia, peach, and tangerine, are delivered through a creamy, mouth-filling experience on the palate. Not super dry or acidic, this is an elegant wine that would pair nicely with roasted root veggies and squash (think about the caramelized little jibs) and/or corn bread muffins with dried bush fruits. Produced from the Engel’s own biodynamically-farmed, estate vineyards.
Chasing Lions Pinot Noir (California)
With grapes from the cooler Monterey, Sonoma and Carneros regions, this Pinot Noir opens with lush aromas of ripe cherries, violets and fig leaf. The balanced, spicy mouth is layered with flavors of dried Turkish apricots and vanilla bean. The finish lingers, enjoy with turkey, ham, or lamb sliders.
On rare occasions, a chosen vintage of a wine may sell out or be replaced by a new release after your order is placed. With bottles of wine listed under $15, we will not hold up an order and will simply automatically substitute the wine with the comparable vintage. Please be assured that we will only substitute with a vintage for the same type, varietal and winery.
