From the Hubert Family that also produce beautiful biodynamic wines at Peybonhomme, comes this classic Bordeaux-style stunner in the Côtes des Bourg. 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec from 55-year old biodynamically-farmed vines. Spontaneous fermentation, with low added sulfites, it spends one year in new French oak barrels. Complex flavors of black raspberry, fig, and dark plum, before leading to notes of toasty mocha and hints of mint chocolate. Earthy tones that are often covered up in more extracted Bordeaux wines, are able to contribute to the mix here. A bottle that punches above its pay grade, it's lovely now as a glowing expression of youth, but will certainly increase in character with additional time.
