At MadWine, we understand the crucial role white wines play in your entertaining and menu pairing needs. We search the world to offer a vast array of styles and varieties.

White wines are made from the grape juice and grape skin of green or gold skinned grapes or from the juice only of select red grapes. When white grapes are picked, they are quickly pressed and the juice is removed with little skin contact. Under that skin, the soft inner part of a white grape is the same color as that of a red grape. The spectrum of color in white wines can vary, and is often determined by the grape type, use of wood or the age of the bottled wine.

Top white wine varieties include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Riesling and Pinot Grigio. Descriptions for these wines include floral, grass, herb, spice, yeast, toast, butter, nuts, citrus fruit, apple, pear, apricot, peach, tropical fruits, honey and mineral.
